Even more rarely seen stieff

Stieff really did not produce much in the way of collector spoons and the like. Here is an example of one made for Atlantic City using a Stieff Rose pattern spoon.

This appears to be from the 1920s or late teens.

In the 1980’s, Kirk-Stieff produced a PEWTER

souvenir spoon for Mount Vernon.

Spoon is 4.25 inches in length

This spoon was for The College of William & Mary

This is a VERY early Stieff Fruit Knife

The Fruit knife has a regular knife bottom and a serrated top . This is listed in the 1910 catalog but is not shown. This is a very early example.

This is an example of a Mid-Century Modern pattern by Stieff that rarely turns up today.

This example from my collection, and was made in 1959

1933-34 World’s Fair Sterling Spoons

In the days when radio was still new, going to the World’s Fair was a special trip of fantasy and a look into the future.  The onset of Television brought many of these delights to  us live and “in person” but removed the mystique of the exotic, bringing the allure of the World’s Fair to an end.  The 1933-34 Chicago  World’s Fair “A Century of Progress”was one of the most spectacular shows ever produced. Items from the 1933-34 World’s Fair are very collectible.

The pattern is Betsy Patterson Plain, introduced in 1932

The rectangular shield was added to the spoon.
